Sin is a powerful force in our lives and holds us in captivity. The Bible describes our spiritual struggles and failures in various ways. For example, we are trapped as it were in a sea of mud. The more we struggle to get out, the deeper we sink. We are in a dark pit whose walls are so high that we can't possibly climb out. We are so terribly ill there is no cure. We are in a prison with no hope of being released. We are lost and don't know where to go. This is where the mission of Christmas brilliantly shines. It's my first time to listen to this song and I can't help to share it on my blog. I'm a country music avid fan and Kenny Rogers is one of the world's best country singers. I really like how he and Wynonna Judd put spirit in every lyrics of the song. It is so believable! The lyrics of  Mary, Did You Know? tells the story of Jesus , His birth, His Ministry, and His Diety. He is the great "I Am."  Jesus said: I am the living bread which came down from heaven. O yes, it's that time of year again. Christmas is fast approaching. I will be featuring Christmas songs and carols here on Behind Crossroads within the next few weeks. I will pick Christmas songs that really popular and those that reflect the true meaning of Christmas. For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. I consider this very popular worship song, Here I am to Worship, as  one of best songs that I've ever heard or sang. Popular contemporary christian artists like Chris Tomlin , Tim Hughes , Michael W. Smith and many others put to life the lyrics of this song and the message it has for mankind. Darlene Zschech and the Hillsong Team version of Here I Am to Worship is somewhat unique and I love that part where Darlene sang an amazing verse "Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved! ( Romans 10:13 )"  It really brought this worship song into a higher step of evangelistic quality.  The video below that was uploaded on Youtube ( video link here )  had attracted over 3.6 millions. Listening to this song Our God by Chris Tomlin while doing this blog entry created me an atmosphere of peace, stirred faith, and inspired spirit. In life, we are easily hooked up with our daily routines and oftentimes, our quiet time with the Lord is becoming less and less. We don't spend much time praying. We don't spend time singing a song of praise or worship. We don't spend time listening to what God has to say by reading His Word or listening to His still small voice. Oh, how easy easy it is to forget or  to procrastinate! But thanks be to God, His mercies never end. They are new every morning. Looking at my twitter feeds this morning , I found this very interesting link about this contestant at the X-Factor UK . Rebecca Ferguson is singing Amazing Grace at the Semi-Finals! A very bold statement about her faith and she dared to sing a song that is probably unpopular to the huge audience of a reality TV Show. Just look at the reactions in the faces of the X-factor Judges. A caption on the the Youtube X-Factor channel commented that "Rebecca has wanted to sing this song for a very long time, so saving it for last was a very wise move."   If I were to vote, of course I can't coz I'm not in the UK, I would surely vote for her. I will launch a huge campaign for audience to keep her in the competition. The truth is, I like this song very much. I stumbled on this song by Chris Rice entitled Come to Jesus while I was reading my twitter feeds. Thanks @geishabird! This song reminds us of how Jesus can transform each and everyone of us once we decide to follow Him.  A lot of people are missing out of what Jesus has to offer. I subscribe to Colin Smith 's weekly Lifekeys devotionals.  I just thought of sharing this one because I believe that we all need to sharpen our thoughts on the subject of Faith. I'm looking for a topic to write on this blog today and I stumbled on a song in Youtube entitled "O Praise Him" by The David Crowder Band .  I first heard about this band back in New Zealand when they performed at the annual Parachute Music Festival usually held in Mystery Creek , Hamilton, New Zealand. If you love the new breed of christian songs, you will surely like this band from Waco, Texas . This band began when David Crowder , from Texarkana, Texas, found out that almost half of the students of Baylor University, a christian university were not attending church. He and Chris Seay started University Baptist Church (Waco, Texas) in 1995 while he was still a student. Crowder led worship there and continued to do so throughout the year.
