Blessed Assurance

Alan Jackson is truly an amazing country singer. He put life into the lyrics of this song entitled Blessed Assurance. This song is an old gospel hymn which conveys the only way to heaven: Jesus is the Way. The only assurance of our citizenship in heaven.

In the Book of Acts we read that about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose. The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted, "Don't harm yourself! We are all here!"


The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"

They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household." (Acts 16: 25-31) Believing is putting our trust in Jesus Christ. We fully surrender to Him all areas of our lives. It's when we die to our fleshly nature when Jesus lives in us.

"It Is Well With My Soul" - Powerful Rendition by Guy Penrod & David Phelps (Live in Jerusalem Gaither Homecoming)

 What a powerful performance of Guy Penrod and David Phelps of this classic hymn " It Is Well With My Soul ." This song also known as "When Peace, Like A River" and was penned by hymnist Horatio Spafford and composed by Philip Bliss. They performed this song at the Gaither Homecoming in Jerusalem and what a blessing to hear these two Gaither Vocal Band members sang it beautifully.
