Top 10 Christian Books Bestsellers

The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) has released its March 2010 Christian Books Bestsellers. As a book enthusiast, this will guide me in my decision of buying the next book to read. Founded in 1974, the ECPA has a long-standing tradition and history of supporting quality and integrity in Christian publishing. ECPA’s mission is to equip our members so they can more effectively make the Christian message widely known by enhancing our industry’s: access to markets; access to awareness; access to education, expertise and consulting; access to information; and access to peers. Here is the Top 10 Christian Books Bestsellers list: 1. Fearless: Imagine Your Life Without Fear  by Max Lucado Fear seems to be in the driver’s seat these days. People are troubled and anxious. Finances are tumbling, rockets are launching, and seemingly solid institutions are teetering. It's tough for folks to know where to turn. Two years ago I began writing a new book entitled Fearless

What is Heaven Like?

Watch video of Dailey and Vincent Song entitled "On the Other Side." Their song tell a story about heaven. If you are a christian, heaven is the place to be! While their Dailey & Vincent describe what's on the other side, I believe that the best reason to be in heaven is to be with Jesus Christ. Heaven is where Jesus Christ is! How great would it be to dine, talk, and sing with your very own Lord and Saviour! Jesus promised: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” How can we know the way? Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:1-6) Love the song? Buy album at Amazon Dailey & V

More Than 200 Dead in Religious Violence in Nigeria

BLESSED are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven! (Matthew 5:10) Read this news article from the Associated Press regarding the latest mass killings of christian believers in Nigeria. What a cowardly act of the murderers! They didn't even spare women and children. They are really evil and these fanaticals probably did it in exchange of  their promised several virgins of their 'heaven". But hey, how noble it is to die for the cause of Jesus Christ! Blessed are the victims for they stand up to their faith in Christ knowing that their reward will never be forgotten by God. Jesus teaches us about the fear of God. He said in Luke 12 verses 4 to 5: “And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him! Fireproof: The Message of the Cross

Have you watched Fireproof? Kirk Cameron played the role of Captain Caleb Holt, a firefighter, who lives by the firefighter's adage: "Never leave your partner." Yet he has another battle to fight - to rescue his marriage with Catherine. Like any other men, Caleb needs the guidance of his idol, John Holt, his dad. Full of wisdom, John Holt challenges him to commit to a 40-day experiment: "The Love Dare." I really love most part of the scenes but what struck me most is that scene where Caleb engages his Dad to a man to man conversation. It's an amazing picture and probably the best part of the movie! I really appreciate the value of having a father and son private conversations. Honestly, I didn't have much of it with my father. That's why I am making most of my time to talk with my 5 year old son. Fathers are heroes to every son and are very influential in shaping their son's future. It would be my most wonderful experience if I were to play

Lessons from My Father: The Wisdom Billy Graham Shared With His Son

This is a transcript of an interview of Franklin Graham by Amy Levin-Epstein of Best Life Magazine. As a father myself, I can help but to look up to this man. He is worthy of emulation. His God given wisdom touches lives not only his son, Franklin Graham, but to ordinary men like myself. Read and be blessed. My father became very close with the Nixons. He was fairly close with John F. Kennedy. After the Watergate era, however, he said, “I’m not going to say anything to a politician again unless it’s of a spiritual nature. I’m not going to talk with them about political issues, about international issues. I’m just going to keep my mouth shut and speak to them about things that affect their hearts.” I’ve watched him my whole life. He is my example. My father doesn’t keep a record of wrongs. If someone hurts him or disappoints him, my father just forgives the person and moves on. I think that’s what love is all about. There’s no book to teach you . My father told me you learn how to

Are We Missing the Church's Purpose?

A.W. Tozer , popularly known as  "20th-century prophet" in his lifetime and was for 31 years pastor of Southside Alliance Church in Chicago, penned this provocative article relevant to our churches today.   It would be too easy to dismiss this dislike for church as only another symptom of original sin and love of moral darkness, but I believe that explanation is too pat to be wholly true. It doesn't explain enough. Some persons, for instance, find church intolerable because there is no objective toward which pastor and people are moving, aside possibly from the limited one of trying to enlist eight more women and 10 more men to chaperon the annual youth cookout or reaching the building fund quota for the month. And believe me, that can get mighty wearisome after a while, so wearisome indeed that alert, forward-looking persons often forsake the churches in droves and leave the spiritless, the dull and those afflicted with permanent insouciance to carry on, if a phrase so a

Would You Sell Your Virginity For $45,000 dollars To A Stranger?

To a young  New Zealand teenager, the answer is YES! She auctioned off her virginity to a stranger for over $45,000 to fund her university tuition fees according to a New Zealand  news headline story .  The 19-year-old Northland student, who listed her virginity to an unpopular auction website  ineed.co.nz , even thanked more than 30,000 people who viewed her ad and to the more than 1200 offers made. Is this a growing trend? Are teenagers resorting to a high class prostitution taking advantage of the advancing technology and the obscure legality of prositution? Earlier this year, In the United States, a Fox News Sto ry reported a 22-year-old woman, Natalie Dylan,  is selling her virginity online — offering her body to bidders nationwide in an auction that reportedly has netted a $3.7 million offer — and the law isn't doing a thing to stop her. Then another teenager   Alina Percea , 18, in the United Kingdon auctioned her virginity on a website so that she could afford to pay for

Life Perspectives

This is a very interesting e-mail I got from a friend. You've got to read this! It's worth more than few minutes of your time spent reading this article. Here it goes. One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked. "Oh yeah," said the son. "So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father. The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio rea

Jesus Is The Way

I'm featuring a well written devotional by Bob Gass. It's a very timely message and conveys a short but clear message. Jesus is The Way. When I was still tied up with religion, John 14:6 seems to be unrecognizable and doesn't do much impact on me. Not until I discover the message of the cross and what Christianity has to offer that this verse deeply impacted me and turn my life around. You see, man-made religion put people to captivity of various rules, traditions, and rituals to follow. These religions impressed upon people about a God that is far and beyond reach. Religion keeps looking and searching for God! It's entirely the reverse of Christianity where God is looking for His lost sons and daughters. Christianity  is about personal relationship to an all knowing, all powerful, and everliving, and loving God. Christianity kindles the passion to discover our Creator and a life that is focussed to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Every word of the Bible comes alive

New Discovery For Doubting Thomas: The Shroud from Jesus' Era Found, Researchers Say

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed - Jesus Christ I am browsing the headlines today and found this very interesting news at CNN World News. Another great piece of discovery. Slowly but surely, historical evidences are  being unearthed proving to us the reality that Jesus Christ had in fact walked into this Earth thousand of years ago. This news article reminds me of the story of Doubting Thomas in John 20:24-29. Thomas, one of Jesus' apostles, said to the other disciples (who earlier testified that they have seen the risen Lord Jesus): “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” And it went when Thomas met Jesus in the presence of his fellow diciples. Jesus called on Thomas and said “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And Thomas answered and said to Him,

Televangelist Oral Roberts Dead at 91

(CBS/AP) Oral Roberts, a pioneer in televangelism who founded a multimillion-dollar ministry and a university that bears his name, died Tuesday. He was 91. Roberts died of complications from pneumonia in Newport Beach, California, according to his spokesman, A. Larry Ross. The evangelist was hospitalized after a fall on Saturday. He had survived two heart attacks in the 1990s and a broken hip in 2006. Roberts was a pioneer who broadcast his spirit-filled revivals on television, a new frontier for religion when he started in the 1950s. He was also a forerunner of the controversial "prosperity gospel" that has come to dominate televangelism. The evangelist's "Seed-Faith" theology held that those who give to God will get things in return. "If God had not, in His sovereign will, raised up the ministry of Oral Roberts, the entire charismatic movement might not have occurred," said Jack Hayford, president of the International Church of the Foursquare G
