Dr Charles Stanley Answers How Can I Remove Strongholds in My Life?

We have to admit it. All of us have issues, strongholds, or addictions in life. It can be smoking, drunkenness, theft, pornography, sexual infidelity, or any other stuffs that we can generally call it as a "sin". We ought to deal with these issues in our lives. We can get practical advice from our friends, colleagues, medical practitioners, self-help coaches, but we must not forget about the biblical principles that have stood the test of time as the most effective way of dealing with these issues of life. In this video, Dr Charles Stanley of In Touch Ministries answers one of the viewer's question: "Smoking has a stronghold on me. When I get upset or nervous, that is when I tend to smoke. Underground Faith: Testimony of Jose Enriquez, One of the 33 Trapped Miners in Chile

Last August 2010, an underground shaft collapsed in a mine in Northern Chile, trapping 33 miners deep underground. The whole world followed the dramatic events and watched with joy as the miners emerged one by one from the shaft three months later. Many of those rescued miners have since become celebrities, but one in particular feels the world needs to hear his story (CBN News)

Billy Graham's The Truth About Hapiness

If you ask me about people who have influenced my life, I can tell you straight away that Billy Graham is one of them. I have a high admiration about Billy Graham's humility, boldness, and uncompromising preachings. I can spend hours watching him preach or read his books. He is such an inspiration.  Today, I am featuring a synopsis of his preaching about happiness. I watched this video several times and on the process, I scribbled his message. Read on.

Mere Christianity - One of Best Christian Books Ever Written

"Ever since I became a Christian I have thought that the best, perhaps the only, service I could do for my unbelieving neighbors was to explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times."     C. S. Lewis C. S. Lewis was a former atheist who later became a Christian.at the age of 31.  This book, Mere Christianity is perhaps one of the best-selling book of all times. C.S. Lewis is also the author of the famous film "The Chronicles of Narnia." In Mere Christianity,  C. S. Lewis rejects the boundaries that divide Christianity's many denominations. While religious belief is not a concern for some, to many more it is an extremely serious decision, requiring deep thought and the entire energy of the mind.

God's Rescue Plan

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[a] because he will save his people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21). What is Christ's greatest accomplishment? It was not His miracles or His insightful teaching or His example of love. The greatest achievement of the God of Christmas is salvation. Sin is a powerful force in our lives and holds us in captivity. The Bible describes our spiritual struggles and failures in various ways. For example, we are trapped as it were in a sea of mud. The more we struggle to get out, the deeper we sink. We are in a dark pit whose walls are so high that we can't possibly climb out. We are so terribly ill there is no cure. We are in a prison with no hope of being released. We are lost and don't know where to go. This is where the mission of Christmas brilliantly shines. Jesus is a great example, but His example is too high for any of us to keep, left to ourselves. He is a great teacher, but

Our God is Greater, Our God is Healer!

Listening to this song Our God by Chris Tomlin while doing this blog entry created me an atmosphere of peace, stirred faith, and inspired spirit. In life, we are easily hooked up with our daily routines and oftentimes, our quiet time with the Lord is becoming less and less. We don't spend much time praying. We don't spend time singing a song of praise or worship. We don't spend time listening to what God has to say by reading His Word or listening to His still small voice. Oh, how easy easy it is to forget or  to procrastinate! But thanks be to God, His mercies never end. They are new every morning. Chris Tomlin put yet another piece of music that really stirred my Spirit. A huge statement and declaration about our Heavenly Father. As I try to follow and sing every lyrics, the more I feel and believe about the message of this song. You might one to try and experience it for yourself. It's really true.  "If God is for us, who can be against us?"  God is for

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "When Jesus said, "You must be born again" ( John 3 ), He didn't say it to a prostitute-it was Nicodemus, a respected rabbi. Jesus said to this man: "You need your whole life to be recreated from the inside." The new birth is a sovereign work of the Holy Spirit. It happens when He moves in a person's life. When you see that, you'll want to pray.   We're looking for more than behavior modification, we're looking for new life from above that makes us the kind of people who are joyful always, pray continually and who give thanks in all circumstances. This only happens through divine power. You have the privilege of knowing the One who holds that power, and He invites you to talk to Him. Come Boldly To The Throne of Grace

"No judge or dissenter can thwart the sovereign purposes of a God who hears and answers the pleas of His people. Believers in Jesus Christ can come "boldly to the throne of grace" (Hebrews 4:16), now that His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection has atoned for sins and opened the way into His presence through faith in Him." Franklin Graham ( Praying Without Ceasing )    Yes Lord! In your freedom I will live. Thank you that I can boldly to your throne of grace made possible by your Son, my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I humbly offer my life to you. Guide me in all the days of my life. Credits: In Your Freedom by Hillsong from Youtube , user WimNL

The Jesus I Never Knew

Christianity is not a doctrine, not truth as truth, but the knowledge of a Person; it is knowing the Lord Jesus. You cannot be educated into being a Christian. -- T. Austin-Sparks A funny church sign says: " There are some questions that can't be answered by Google!" With enough curiousity, I typed in "Jesus" in Google Search and bingo! There are about 175,000,000 results in 0.15 seconds! The top 5 results is from Wikipedia , a funny titled website called " Jesus Dress Up ",  a question-captioned site called " Who is Jesus-Really? ," Youtube videos, and The Jesus Film Project . With the advance technology that we are in nowadays, we process a lot of information. Good or bad. True or not true. Relevant or irrelevant. But who is Jesus really? With 175 millions hits in Google, where a lot us rely for quick information, Jesus is undeniably one of the most popular Person throughout our history. In fact He is very controversial. A lot o

The Justice of God (By Billy Graham)

Modern man does not like to think of God in terms of wrath, anger and judgment. He likes to make God according to his own ideas and give God the characteristics he wants Him to possess. Man tries to remake God to conform to his own wishful thinking, so that he can make himself comfortable in his sins. This modern god has the attributes of love, mercy and forgiveness, but is without justice. Man doesn’t want to be judged and punished for sin. He “reconstructs” God along the lines of tolerance, all-embracing love and universal goodwill. In this picture of God, there are no laws that demand absolute obedience and no standards to which man must adhere.    The Psalmist said: “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes” (Psalm 19:7-8). The Bible warns that “evil men do not understand justice”

Create In Me A Clean Heart

Does God allow second chance? If we commit the heaviest sin in our lives, is there hope of forgiveness? In Psalm 51, we reflect on David's prayer when he committed an adulterous relationship with Batsheba to the point the he orchestrated the death of Uriah, a loyal soldier to him who is Bathseba's husband. Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight— That You may be found just when You speak And blameless when You judge. Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then

Believe In Miracles But Trust In Jesus!

The late Dr Adrian Rogers, preacher/teacher of Love Worth Finding Ministries, wrote this article that I want to share to all Behind Crossroads readers. I hope you will find it inspiring. Be blessed. "If you believe the Bible, you know that God is a miracle-working God. And God is not limited in any degree nor any respect. He is totally sovereign. So, we can believe in miracles, but don't put your faith in miracles. Put your faith and your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Let's look at the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand as recorded in John 6. Great multitudes were following Jesus at that time, but why? John 6:2 gives us the answer, "And a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His miracles which He did on them that were diseased." People do that today, do they not? Now I want you to see three things about moving beyond miracles and on to Jesus. There Is No Problem Too Big For Jesus To Solve Do you have a problem today? Read Joh

The Bible in Every Tongue: A 'God-Sized' Mission

She's from Ohio and he's from Alabama, but together they now call Uganda home. There, they are developing a written language for a remote African tribe. Their efforts are part of a project to translate the Bible into the last remaining languages on earth.  Since 2008, the Schrocks have lived among the Ik people. There are about 10,000 Ik tribe members and they live close to the Kenyan border. Amber is a nurse. When they arrived in the village, she found a woman with pain in her waist. "We have clinic on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.," she said. "I've been seeing 75 to 100 people a week." Terrill is a linguist. "My personal style of language learning is just spending a lot of time surrounded by it," he explained. The Ik have always had an oral culture. But thanks to Terrill and his team, the tribe will soon have something they've never had before -- a written language. The husband and wife work for Wycliffe

Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 (King James Version)  ————————– Who will go, and where should we go? The scripture above is referred to as “The Great Commission”, and it was given to the disciples by Jesus on His first appearance to them after rising from the grave. Easter: The Greatest News Ever Heard

"The greatest news that mortal ear has ever heard is the news that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead as He promised! The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the chief proof of the Christian faith. It is the truth that lies at the very foundation of the Gospel. Other doctrines of the Christian faith may be important, but the resurrection is essential. Without a belief in the resurrection there can be no personal salvation. The Bible says, “If we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved” (Cf. Romans 10:9). In the resurrection of Jesus Christ we have the answer to the great question of the ages: “If mortals die, can they live again?” The Bible teaches that because Christ lives, we also shall live. The greatest truth that you can ever hear is that Jesus Christ died but rose again, and that you, too, will die but can rise again into newness of life. The Bible teaches the bodily resurrection of Jesus Chr

Full Text of the Pope's Letter to the Roman Catholics of Ireland on Child Sex Abuse

PASTORAL LETTER OF THE HOLY FATHER POPE BENEDICT XVI 1. Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Church in Ireland, it is with great concern that I write to you as Pastor of the universal Church. Like yourselves, I have been deeply disturbed by the information which has come to light regarding the abuse of children and vulnerable young people by members of the Church in Ireland, particularly by priests and religious. I can only share in the dismay and the sense of betrayal that so many of you have experienced on learning of these sinful and criminal acts and the way Church authorities in Ireland dealt with them. As you know, I recently invited the Irish bishops to a meeting here in Rome to give an account of their handling of these matters in the past and to outline the steps they have taken to respond to this grave situation. Together with senior officials of the Roman Curia, I listened to what they had to say, both individually and as a group, as they offered an analysis of mistakes ma
