The Church Triumphant

Song by Gaither Vocal Band

Let the Church be the ChurchLet the people rejoiceFor we've settled the questionWe've made our choiceLet the anthems ring outSongs of victory swellFor the church triumphant, is alive and well
You knowThis ship's been through battles beforeThe storms and the tempests and allThe rocks on the shoreThough the hull may be batteredInside it's safe and dryIt's gonna carry it's cargo toThe port in the sky
God has always had a peopleMany a foolish conqueror hasMade the mistake of thinkingThat because he hadForced the church of JesusChrist out of site, heHad stilled it's voice andSnuffed out it's lifeBut God has always had a people the powerfulCurrent of a rushing river is notDiminished because it's forced toFlow underground nowThe purest water is the streamThat burst crystal clear into the sunlightAfter it has forced it's wayThrough solid rock there have been who likeSimon The Magician sought to barterOn the open market that power whichCannot be bought or soldBut God has always had a people men who couldNot be bought and women who were beyondPurchase god has always hadA people there haveBeen times of affluence andProsperity when theChurch's message has been nearlyDeluded into oblivionBy those who sought to make itSocially attractive, neatly organizedFinancially profitableBut God has always had a people yes it's beenGold plattedDraped in purple and encrusted withJewels it has been misrepresented, ridiculedLauded and scorned but God has always hadA people and these followers ofJesus Christ have been, according toThe whim of the timesElevated sacred leaders andModern heretics yet through it allTheir march is on that powerful armyOf the meek god's chosen peopleWho cannot be bought, blabberedMurdered or stilledOn through the ages they marchThe church! God's church triumphant!
Listen child of God, it'sAlive discouraged pastor, it'sHis church and it's stillAlive lonely missionarySow that seed with confidenceThe church is still alive old saintYou're not alone or forgotten theChurch is still aliveIt's alive my broken hearted friendIt's still alive busy mothersJust keep trusting inJesus, the church is alive you'reNot alone out there, just keepLooking to Jesus the church isAlive and faithful fathersThere's rest in the LordGod's church is still alive so familyOf God lift your hands, lift yourHands and praise the Lord the churchGod's church triumphant is aliveIt's alive my friends alive and well
